Tours on Wednesday, July 2nd 

On Wednesday, July 2nd, there will be two organized tours: Sightseeing in Haifa, and a visit to the unique home of the “Towns Association for Environment Quality in the Arab city Sachnin. The tours are free of charge for the conference participants. Both tours will leave from the Technion at 15:15.  We encourage you to read the description of  the two options and register to one of them in the following form:

Information on Towns Association for Environment Quality – Sachnin

Towns Association for Environment Quality (TAEQ) is a municipal collaboration established in 1993 as the first Arab-Israeli environmental organization in Israel. TAEQ’s mission is to serve as a bridge for peace between people to people, and between people and the environment. TAEQ’s major areas of activity are: education and community awareness, regional and urban planning, eco-tourism and sustainable agriculture, energy conservation and green building, enforcement and inspection, research and development, and cross-border cooperation. In addition, TAEQ is currently developing a conflict resolution center, and a geospatial center. TAEQ and its green building headquarters in the Arab city of Sakhnin are recipients of several international awards for innovation, environmental responsibility, cultural heritage preservation,  leadership, and sustainability. Our visit to TAEQ will be guided by its executive director, Dr. Hussein Tarabeih. Drop off at the hotels at 19:00-19:30.

Reception and beverages in the beautiful oriental style City Hall, and sightseeing in Haifa’s main atractions.

Wadi Nisnas where the unique collage of cultures in Haifa is best seen, The German Colony, which was established in Haifa in 1868 by the German Templers. It was the first of several colonies established by the group in the Holy Land. Others were founded in Sarona near JaffaGalilee and Jerusalem. Stella Maris, where Christianity tradition related to the region is best seen, and  Louis Promenade with beautiful observations to Haifa Bay and northern Israel.

Drop off: 19:15 pm, Mercaz HaCarmel (Carmel Center).


 Jerusalem Excursion on Saturday July 5th

Tour “Discover Jerusalem”

Begin with a panoramic view of Jerusalem on the Temple Mount. Tour the Old City to visit the Church of St. Anne, Pools of Bethesda and follow the Via Dolorosa Stations to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit Golgotha and the Burial and Resurrection place of Jesus. Break for lunch and shopping (if time permits). Walk through the Cardo – the main trade street of the Jewish quarter to the Western Wall. Continue onto the Mount Zion, visit the Room of the Last Supper, House of Caiaphas and Church of St. Visit the Mount of Olives, Church of Pater Noster, down to Dominus Flevit and St. Mary Magdalene Church, and the Garden of Gethsemane. In the evening head to Tel-Aviv (a stop at the Ben-Gurion airport is available for those who have departures on Saturday night).

 *Note: As the tour includes visits to holy places, modest dress & comfortable shoes are required

Beginning of the tour 8:00, Haifa Mercaz Hacarmel. End of the tour: 20:00, Tel-Aviv.

Three optional stops for tour ending: Ben-Gurion international  airport, Central Train Station Arlozorov, HaYarkon Street (where most of Tel Aviv Hotels are located).

For those who wish to get back to Haifa we are arranging a shared Taxi van, from Tel Aviv Arlozorov to Haifa Mercaz Hacarmel. This will cost an extra fee of 25$ (depending on number of passengers).

The price includes:

  • A professional English-speaking guide (up to 12 hours tour)
  • Transportation by a comfortable air-conditioned bus according to the size of the group (up to 12 hours tour)
  • Entrance fees to all sites as per itinerary
  • Taxes and service charges are included (as per current Israel’s tax laws)
  • 24-hour emergency contact service

The price does not include:

  • Any meals and beverages
  • Tips and gratuities (tips are not comprehensive, but definitely expected, usually – $5 per person for a guide, $3 per person for a driver)
  • The prices do not include VAT. Israeli citizens should add VAT according to the current Israeli law.


The overall price is dependent on the number of registered participants. If we have more than 36 participants the rate will be $55. If we have less than 35 it will be $80 per person.

In order to avoid confusion regarding the number of participants, please register only if you will arrive for sure.

Payment will be done directly with Egged Tours representative who will be in touch with you after May 1st.
